To untie the cord, to break the yoke, to set the captives free…
This line lifted from prophet Isaiah and placed as the first line in Paul Anleitner’s song “Isaiah”, represents the driving force deeply embedded in all the music the Minneapolis/St. Paul based songwriter creates.
His guitar driven music is designed with every intention of being about an experience far beyond what mere music can provide. The sonic landscape created in the music facilitates an environment of open and raw heart-to-heart dialogue with God. In that place of dialogue, people realize the nearness of God to them, they are set free in their identity as son or daughter of God, and feel empowered to love the world around them in the same ways Jesus demonstrated God’s love for the world.
