Cities Under Fire formed in 2009 as a collaboration between brothers Andrew and Jardeth
Hemmerling and songwriter David Millar.
The band released a self titled EP that fall, which featured an acoustic rock sound with faith based
lyrics. In the fall of 2010, the release of their first full length album "Lukewarm Love" brought the
listener a more mature depth of songwriting as well as defining the band as a dynamic and
melodic alternative rock band.
Their first single "Wake Up" was featured on an all Saskatchewan compilation disc "In Tune 2011"
That included some of Sask’s top artists from all genres. With the release of Lukewarm Love the
guys began to tour extensively across Canada as well as several trips to the US. The Album was
very well received, with several award nominations, including winning "Modern Rock/Alternative
Album of the Year" at the 2011 GMA Canada awards in Calgary Alberta.
Their sophomore album "Bright Lights" was release on Sept 4th 2012 followed by a Canadian and U.S. tour in the fall of 2012.
