Seven Years consists of a group of dedicated singers, players, and songwriters that hail from all over the United States: Seattle, Maryland, St. Louis, and Little Rock...just to name a few. Thankfully, we all found each other in the heart of Los Angeles where we thrive on making beautiful music together. We hope you will join us.
We are first and foremost a Christian band that seeks to glorify, praise, and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through inspirational music. We spent over a year in the studio producing our debut album but the songwriting started much earlier than that. Suthern Hicks felt called to write songs that not only praised God but also questioned the journey he was on. Being a Christian does not always mean life is picture perfect and our walk is not always along rosy paths. Sometimes we must walk amongst the thorns and sometimes we mistakenly help plant a few along the way.
Fortunately, some very talented and seasoned musicians heard the music and wanted to contribute and thus, Seven Years was formed in 2012. Although the band as an entity is new, the relationships between the members span many years. Justin Sheehy was the first to get on board and he has been playing in the los Angeles are for about six years. He has himself had several albums produced and is quite accomplished in songwriting as well as singing, playing and performing live. Cole Williams was the next to lend her talents to the project and it was at this point that Seven Years really began to take shape. Her voice is amazing and only matched by her love for the Lord.
We were very fortunate to have many talented (including Grammy nominated) people work on this album, including but not limited to Sean Winchester who is currently on tour with the band Everclear, Edwin Carranza who also plays for Kenny Lattimore, Marc Desisto who did our mixing, as well as some great young up and comers like Brian Wertheim and Chase Ryan.
At the end of the day, art means very little without people like you to share the experience with. We hope you will find a song or two that really touches your heart, sets your spirit and feet dancing, or perhaps gives you a new perspective on the one who created it all - the Light of the world. We lift all of our fans and listeners up in prayer and we hope you will do the same. We are eternally grateful for your support.
