Sanctification Parade is an alternative-rock band that was started by Joel Cain in late 2007. After September 2011, the band evolved into a solo project. Sanctification Parade is about making music that is lyrically honest and open, and musically unique. It isn't about doing what appeals the broadest audience, but rather expressing individuality through words and music. Following God and using gifts and talents to serve Him has always been the top priority. The style of music itself varies between songs, with combinations of various genres, such as rock, jazz, metal, blues, punk, indie, and more.
Sanctification is defined as being set apart from the rest of the world. This means not compromising a commitment to following God, and living like Jesus did. It's not blending in, even if that means being completely isolated. This requires trusting that God will guide you as you walk the narrow path. A parade doesn't always have to be people going around playing music, but it is a part of what the band is about. A parade can also be a group of people going around, doing the same thing for a cause. Followers of Christ are called to go out, living lives as leading examples and sharing God's love. The purpose of Sanctification Parade has always been to let others know about God's love through music, and to have them become sanctified through His salvation so that they can live the lives God desires them to and be saved. It's also been about strengthening the lives of already-existing Christians, and encouraging them to join the parade. Sanctification Parade is meant to be big - people going about, unashamed and out in the open, spreading the love of Jesus Christ among others.
