We want to lead people into worship. We want to meet people where they are and lead them into the presence of God, to an encounter with the love of God. We want to reach out to people who need to know Jesus. We feel called to lead the "church" into worship, but also to be a light in the secular industry. We also want to promote the musical excellence and spiritual growth that we are learning at Visible Music College.
Visible Music College is a Music and Worship Arts College located in Memphis, Tennessee, started by Ken Steorts, a founding member of the Christian rock band Skillet. The college's mission statement is to train and equip musicians, technicians, and business professionals in skill and character for effective service in the music industry and in the Church. Visible Music College offers three-year Bachelor's degrees in the following areas: Music Production Ministry, Modern Music Ministry, and Music Business.
Link Between the School and the Band:
All of the members of Lights Align are current students of Visible Music College. They are spread out through multiple majors such as Worship Leading, Songwriting, Guitar, and Drums. Their music style/influencers are rooted in Progressive Digital Worship, reminiscent of rhythmic indie bands like Mutemath, and the electronic sounds and layers will appeal to fans of Digital Age, Gungor, The Ember Days, Coldplay, Ian McIntosh, Port Blue, and Owl City.
The Bands Achievements:
- Recorded Singles at The Grove studio and Ardent Studios.
- Leading worship for various events locally.
- Preparing for a CD release in the spring of 2013
- National Summer Tour in 2013
