Since 2005, Marcus Parker has traveled the state of Texas and all over the United States bringing the message of staying positive, motivated and holding workshops for youth and young adults on goal-setting and how to attain an upstanding and outstanding life through his series of performances as a motivational rap artist and teacher, as well as an inspirational and talented circuit speaker.
He has the distinction of being one of the Dallas Morning News' best-selling authors, has performed at The Potter's House, and has had the awesome pleasure of being in the company of his own favorite speaker, Les Brown.
Born September 3, 1974 in Port Arthur, Texas, Parker is also an American author and writer as well as a designer of seminars and workshops designed to help young people get to their A-game and learn the skills needed to stay there.
He graduated from Lincoln High School, Port Arthur, and holds a degree from Electronics Systems Technology, Community College of the United States Air Force. He became a top-notch electronic technician in his field, working with semiconductors and investing his earnings in tech stocks. The tech stocks investments allowed him to retire early and he continues today, after a momentary setback, to record motivational rap music because he knew it was needed and necessary to help deflect the often hurtful and demeaning lyrics that many rap artists flaunt as artistry.
Parker now has more than 50 hit recordings, three books and a workbook filled with positive influence under his belt, and promises more to come in the future.
After publishing his autobiography "The Product" in 2004, he traveled to schools and churches speaking to youth groups about staying positive and getting past their personal hardships. In 2013, he published “The Final Product,” a sequel to the 2004 Dallas Morning News best-seller.
He has spoken at Academy Park High School, Sharon Hill, PA; Gus Garcia High, Austin TX; Molina High School, Dallas Tx; Memorial High School, Port Arthur; Madison High School, Dallas; Sam Houston, Port Arthur; Spruce High School, Dallas; Faith Walk Juvenile Boot Camp, Dallas; and Wheatley School, Port Arthur and appeared live on:
