TALON (Real Name: Jason Pinnock) is a Christian singer/songwriter/producer that strives to "grab" the attention of people through his music and message of Christ to draw them near to God. As singer, songwriter, and producer, his debut demo album, No Turning Back, depicts his journey of finding his identity in Christ.
A body of work that identifies with people from all walks of life, No Turning Back covers common & various themes of the human condition such as trials, triumphs, frustration, internal struggle, and overcoming obstacles all written in a universal context. Lyrically honest, real, and reflective, the album seeks to connect not only with its listeners through the human condition but also by sharing the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Composing all 12 tracks (with co-producing by DJ Karl Forde on "Long Live the King"), and audio enhancements by audio engineer Gerrick Moore, this artist's eclectic sound of Christian Pop on his debut album combines elements of Pop, R&B, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Electronica, as well as piano & string accompaniment. Such a varied display of music in the album stems from his family upbringing and influence by artists in many genres of music such as in Praise & Worship, Classical, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, and Reggae. Though aspirations in his youth changed over the years, his ultimate dream was always to be a recording artist. His passion for music began as a child. He loved to sing in the privacy of his own room, but he was too shy to sing in front of anyone else. His love of music progressed into playing piano by ear, teaching himself hip-hop/pop dance choreography, and developing songwriting through a love of creative writing, poetry, and hip-hop lyricism. However, it was being introduced to Christian Hip-Hop music at age 15 by his childhood best friend, that made him realize he could use music outside the walls of conventional church to serve God & His Kingdom and keep at bay the fears of singing in front of a crowd.
At 21, while in college and writing lyrics toward his own Christian Hip-Hop album, an opportunity was presented to him to sign with a local independent record label in West Palm Beach, Florida and begin touring as the front man for a Christian Rap/Rock band. After prayerful consideration, he declined the offer, and felt led by the Lord to head in a new musical direction. This change would develop over the course of 7 years in his singing, songwriting, & producing of his own original music in the form of his debut demo album, No Turning Back.
As a solo artist or as a songwriter for others, his heart and passion for music remains the same right down to the imagery in his stage name; to "grab" the attention of all who will listen by sharing the importance of Christ and encouraging people to ignite their passion for God in their own lives. Expect No Turning Back to strive for nothing less.
