Three years after the release of Jenny’s first album in 2005, Glimpse of Glory, she and her husband were thrilled to discover they were expecting twins, a gift that would expand their clergy family of four to six. The family expansion meant that Jenny had to take a break from all personal pursuits. But she’s back with visible growth in both her writing and her catchy piano-pop melodies.
Producer and electric guitar player extraordinaire, Andrew Osenga (The Normals, Caedmon’s Call), clearly stretched Jenny to explore sounds and ideas that broke open wide the-girl-and-her-piano sound that she says she easily defaults to. The result is a collection of ten pop songs that Jenny says she, “couldn’t be more proud of.”
Jenny is an artist-partner with International Justice Mission and hopes to raise awareness and support in the fight against human trafficking. “As a mom of four little people, I simply cannot accept that there are young girls trapped in brothels and families just like mine abused in factories because they have no money or power to get out.”
The Girl With Good Intentions releases on iTunes on August 1, 2013. Physical CDs are available now at jennyyoungman.com.
“Somewhere along the way we learn to play it safe and we forget Jesus made us to be fearless, to live in the light of the day—to be brave.” –Jenny Youngman, To Be Brave
