B.devine is a Christian singer/songwriter devoted to spreading the message of healing, hope and victory. Her story reads like fiction but she hopes that by sharing her truth she can be an example for others to see Gods Glory revealed. With selfesteem struggles, her gift could have never been shared. Somehow she learned to believe through the tears, the joy and the tragedy-she is fighting with an enduring desire to be in the will of GOD.
Born in Little Rock Arkansas, the youngest of 10 children, her parents served as COGIC Pastors, with a genuine heart for others. They instilled in her human compassion and the fear of the Lord. Bethany joined in with the joyous singing that filled the air of her lively household. Growing up, she was intrigued by music and the magic she felt when she heard it. Some of her early influences include: The Hawkins Family, Commissioned, The Clark Sisters and Prince and André Crouch.
At 11, she began singing in a family group called DIVINE. The group provided Bethany the chance to develop as an artist. They performed original music regionally. It wasn't long before they caught the eye of a few nationally prominent record executives. They were signed to a major record label and were featured on the Gospel Stellar Awards but were released from their contract shortly afterwards.
After her first year of college, Bethany was sexually assaulted. Feeling extremely lost, she took time away from school and music. God saw her through this time and with the help of her supportive family she got through the trial and persecution of her attacker. She reentered school and blessed her to meet her husband and partner. Her husband helped her heal, then encouraged her to strongly finish what she had started with her college education. With her husband's support, Bethany made music and gained a college education even earning two degrees in Finance.
Bethany released two independent albums and traveled the world ministering to numerous churches, organizations and television networks. In 2010, she was featured as a finalist on BET-Sunday Best. That same year, Bethany endured the death of her father and her husband's grandmother. Both losses were very painful but it drew them closer and inspired them to live with greater purpose.
No loss could prepare her for what was to come. In June of 2011, on a hot afternoon, Bethany lost her loving, supportive, best friend and husband of 10 years to a suddenly pulmonary embolism. This was a blow that knocked her down and NEARLY took her out but through much prayer and supplication, God is blessing her to see the sun rise over the hill.
In Bethany's blessed tenure as a Gospel Artist she has shared the stage with many of gospel's greats such as: Kim Burrell, Clark Sisters, Earth Wind and Fire, Mary J. Blige, Vickie Winans, Yolanda Adams, John P. Kee, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and other noted Artist.
With a renewed devotion, Bethany's third solo CD, "Daily Confessions", produced by the award winning Asaph Alexander Ward; scheduled for release in 2014 is a blend of inspirational and encouraging adult contemporary songs that are sprinkled with a strong influence of Urban, Soul, Funk, Pop and traditional gospel while offering something for everyone. Her remake of Amy Grant's 1980 Hit, "El Shaddai" revisits her devotion to worship music, demonstrating to all that from her early days to her recent years of success, she is establishing herself as one of the most talented, soulful female inspirational vocalists in the industry. Truly her voice will be recognized as one of the greatest voices in gospel music; to date.
The rest of her life will be spent offering all that she has though ministry to bring encouragement- Gods peace and healing to the WORLD.
