Jen Haugland is a breath of fresh air, with a genuine heart for people, uniquely honest vocals, and thoughtful, touching lyrics.
A seasoned singer/songwriter, keyboardist and speaker, she weaves her love of music and her professional career as a Christian mental health counselor, along with her personal testimony of God's faithfulness in her own life. Her music ministry is an expression of hope and healing to those who are hurting in a world of uncertain times.
Jen was just awarded with an Honorable Mention for the Cindy Wilt Colville Excellence in Songwriting for her new Christmas song, "A Still and Quiet Night", at CMSNW 2014.
Her latest album release, "Where I Am", was produced and co-written with producer Eric Copeland, president of Creative Soul Records in Nashville, TN. After working through Creative Soul's Artist Development program, Copeland saw promise in several of Jen's new songs. They began tracking on the new songs, and then co-writing on several new songs. It was soon very obvious, a special collection of songs were forming.
Working with some of the top musicians in the Christian music business (Dave Cleveland, Mark Hill, Jason Webb, Mark Baldwin and more) and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Ronnie Brookshire, the new album is a unique blend of contemporary pop and rock, mixed with some out of the box arrangements.
"This album is like an onion," says producer Eric Copeland. "It starts with current sounding pop, but then you just start peeling away the layers. With each song, the album takes on new dimensions. It's been a pleasure to create and now to listen to!"
A devoted follower of Christ, Jen has been married to the same husband twice for 27 years: a testimony to the power of Christ's love to experience reconciliation and healing from divorce. She is a mom of two adult married daughters and a teenage son on the Autism Spectrum.
Jen has been active in church worship teams for the past 12 years and trained in worship leading. Jen works with Branon Dempsey, founder of Worship Team Training, Inc., as the Ministry Mentoring Program Coordinator/Event Assistant and Worship Mentor to help equip and encourage church worship teams in their worship ministries.
She has a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology and has worked in the behavioral and mental health fields for over 20 years. Her blog ministry of No Longer Opposed is a place where she shares her heart and expertise in the mental health field from a Christ-centered perspective with those who are hurting and searching for hope and healing.
