Unlike fellow Long Beach rapper Snoop Dogg, Sareem Poems doesn't glorify chronic and one-eight-sevens on undercover cops, but instead preaches positive Christian values in his rhymes. After getting his feet wet as a member of L.A. Symphony alongside Pigeon John, he released Blooming Sounds under the pseudonym Poems (short for Sharlok Poems). For his third release, he changed his handle to Sareem Poems and released Black & Read All Over in 2009.
