Travis Dupri Williams, better known by the stage name Travis Dupri, is a CHH (Christian hip-hop) artist. Travis was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Silver Spring, MD during his adolescent years. He relocated to Martinsburg, WV during his senior year of high school and that is where he developed a strong passion for music.
Travis Dupri began his rap career in 2008 while working with the young Jeremy Winans, nephew of the talented gospel artists, CeCe and BeBe Winans. Travis went on to release over five very successful mixtapes and albums, gaining a loyal fan base throughout: Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
Having success in the secular music industry broughgt many temptations; temptations that Travis wasn't spiritually equipped to battle. Towards the end of 2013 and 2014, Travis found himself in a dark and lonely place of utter confusion after succumbing to the desires of his flesh. Fast forwarded to 2015, Travis had planted he and his family in a church home and was feeling better than he'd ever been. He was beginning to know and experience God in ways in which he'd never experienced. With his new found joy and peace, Travis no longer desired making music to glorify himself and the world. It was at that moment, God reignited Travis's desire to create music, but this time, it was for His glory... Kingdom glory.
A highlighting moment in his career is when he opened up for Grammy nominated artist and Dove award winner, Flame.
