Chandler Sherrill (aka Poetics) is a producer from Nashville, TN. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon before moving to Nashville, he grew up very involved in hip-hop. In sixth grade, he wrote his first rhyme, then started recording the next year. However, it wasn't until college when Poetics took music serious and to the next level.
As an intern at Reflection Music Group (RMG) and Rocketown Productions, Poetics started spending time with Derek Minor, Tony Tillman, B. Cooper, and Canon. Soon after his internship, Canon took him under his wing as a protege and helped him develop his sound, producing techniques, image, and business approaches.
Poetics attends Trevecca Nazarene University and is earning a degree in Music Business by Spring of 2018.
Poetics came on the scene quickly producing hit songs for Surf Gvng ("Vibe") and Jarry Manna ("Boss Man"). He realized quickly that rapping was not where God wanted him, but instead God wanted him to produce. Since then, he has stopped rapping, and stuck with producing.
His first single "Now They Gone See" received critical acclaim from Christian markets and fellow artists. The single features indie tribe. member Jarry Manna, Surf Gvng affiliate DeAndre, Young Souljaz member Xay Hill, and Zae Ortiz. The single was shared by Christian outlets including Rapzilla, Trackstarz, NewReleaseToday, Mr Galaxy 015 and HGAmusiq.
