What do you get when a spunky extrovert spends her childhood on stage, her teenage years gabbing away with customers at a Jewish deli and her adult life touring the globe with her own music, hosting events and appearing on the most watched television show in the world?
You get Shae Wilbur!
You've seen her alongside Mario Lopez on EXTRA, bringing the latest celeb scoop on The Wendy Show, and all across networks like FOX, CBS, The CW and even AXN Japan... but let's REWINDDDDDDD.
Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Shae grew up on stage--literally--performing with her singer/songwriter father from the age of 8. In 2006 she released her debut CD Mercy Calling, which sold more than 10,000 copies, and toured the U.S., South America, Central America, Europe and the Middle East.
But Shae's "big break" came during season 8 of American Idol. Her natural effervescence and distinctive voice, not to mention her canine sidekick (Sasha, the Shih Tzu), made her an instant favorite with judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi, who sent her straight through to Hollywood.
Alas, becoming the next American Idol wasn't meant to be for Shae, but the experience led her to a gig as the "Face of FOX30" in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to serving as their Entertainment News Correspondent for 4 years, Shae also appeared in hundreds of commercials and promos for the station.
Her in-studio and red carpet interviews, which have included Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, George Lopez, Nigel Lythgoe, Michael Weatherly (NCIS), Jane Seymour and Phillip Phillips, are as entertaining as they are informative. Sharon's innate ability to connect with anyone and everyone is both infectious and dynamic.
Adding writer/producer to her on camera credits, Shae launched a segment called FOXculture which quickly gained popularity among her network and became syndicated across the US.
After over 5 years of living in "the south" - this city girl was missing her urban roots... however the Philly winters were no longer appealing so she packed up her car (along with her hubby and dog) and moved to LA!
