A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll, and a lot praise and worship; that might be the easiest way to describe the music of Julian Drive. Although Julian Drive has a distinctive sound, it’s the heart, passion and ability to connect with an audience in worship of our Savior Jesus Christ, that most have come to know and love about this group.Over the past decade they have had the opportunity to work with many of Nashville’s top producers and musicians, and have shared the stage with many of Christian Music’s most respected worship leaders and artists. Among those are Casting Crowns, Newsong, Israel Houghton, David Crowder, Meredith Andrews, Third Day, Big Daddy Weave, Rush Pf Fools, Building 429, and a host of others.
“We’ve been humbled and blessed to be able to do what we do. Many have asked what the secret to sustaining a ministry like this is. I simply say, a Christ-centered work ethic, being surrounded by like-minded friends and musicians, a LOT of prayer, faith, and having God’s hand of blessing on it,” lead vocalist Shane Bowers explained.
After growing up with the influence of southern rock, country, and gospel, lead vocalist and founder Shane Bowers found himself in a situation to become a worship leader in the late 1990’s in Athens, Georgia. He quickly found that he was surrounded with a great deal of talented young musicians. By 2004, these young musicians, with Shane at the helm, unexpectedly found themselves as winners of a national competition of Christian artists on national television. This quickly led to national exposure and eventually led the group to make the decision to go full time in music ministry in the spring of 2006.
After many years on the road, thousands of miles traveled, and more importantly, witnessing thousands of decisions made for Christ, Julian Drive continues to be a platform for musicians who are hungry to develop their talents for the Kingdom Purpose. The message and focus remains fully centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
