Based in Washington, DC, Sam Roberts & The Levites Assembly is an anointed group of anointed individuals. They are led by choir director, songwriter, and vocalist Sam Roberts, who draws upon the talents of over a dozen vocalists and musicians to bring his contemporary spiritual music to life.
Affectionately known as LA, the group was established in 2012 and has performed at Hezekiah Walker’s Stellar Awards sanctioned event "ChoirFest," sharing platforms with choirmasters such as Ricky Dillard, amongst others. They have also participated in the Allstate Gospel Superfest competition and have recorded LIVE at T.D. Jakes’ Megafest International Choir Showcase.
In August 2017, Sam Roberts & The Levites Assembly released their self-titled debut album, which included the leadoff single, "Reap Now." The album featured a host of guests, including appearances by vocalists April Hall, Serena Young, and George Huff as well as a spot from songwriter/producer Travis Malloy. This was followed by a Christmas EP, An LA Christmas, released in November 2019.
