Immersed in music since birth, Belinda was blessed with a full-time music coach. Her father, Cecil Milligan, was a minister of music, songwriter and lead singer in a southern gospel quartet. "I remember as a small child standing on the kitchen table (or anything that would serve as a stage) singing for my parents, family and friends," recalls Belinda. "I still love the stage and seeing the smiles on the faces in the audience." Since those early days of singing for family, friends and traveling around with her father's quartet, Belinda's music has varied tremendously.
Always with a sincere desire to honor her Heavenly Father, Belinda embarks on a new adventure in His service with her debut CD "The Heart of God". First a daughter, then a mother, but always a performer, she knew it was God's timing not hers that led her to this decision. After much prayer and searching and with a full sense that God was in control, Belinda teamed up with Creative Soul Records in Nashville. The result is an eclectic mix of eight original songs and two remakes of classic hymns all written and arranged by Belinda Jane and producer Eric Copeland. Copeland says, "We focus on producing great songs with the top musicians, studios, and multimedia folks in the Christian music industry here in Nashville. Because of this, our artists are getting attention on a national and international stage. Belinda has a quality and a sound that is truly anointedand a heart for God to match."
"My goal was to share the heart of God through my songs, " says Belinda, "Wherever the Lord leads, I'll follow. He is the Author of the Song."
