Shea Dalton doesn't quite remember when he started writing songs. Perhaps it's because he's now far past the age of when he started, or perhaps it's due to the fact that songwriting, at least initially, is not a learned skill, but an innate and necessary expression that's come upon. A worship pastor and songwriter from Southern California, Shea Dalton didn't start his career as one might think. He cut his teeth in the pop punk scene, drumming, singing and writing for multiple bands.
If Shea was eased passively into music and writing, Shea's call to faith was a sharp, gripping moment of clarity that completely shifted the trajectory of his music and his life. A cancelled show led to a night out that resulted in a near-death experience, and for the first time in his life, he called out to God from his hospital bed. A few years later, he felt a deafening call to pastoral ministry. He's been leading and writing worship songs for over a decade now.
A patient and prayerful season paid off, as it brought Shea's debut release "Every Moment" in 2018, a unifying message about how God's people and its individual selves are a microcosm of the kingdom. The single reached over 60 nations after being featured as one of NoiseTrade's "New & Notable Christian/Gospel Artist," which laid the groundwork for his upcoming singles, "You're Always Good" and "King Of Glory" 2021.
