"the one nine project" is a Christian rock project get its name from 1 John 1:9 (If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness).  Originally known as "one:nine", the name was changed to simplify Internet searches (The internet doesn't like the colon when searching) as well as music services not knowing how to sort the name). Another reason for the change is to include the word "project" which has a dual meaning.  As imperfect human beings, we are a project; that is to say God is still working on us.   Also, the word "project" reflects the fact that while at this time, the band consists of Gregg Hart as the only full-time member performing most of the music himself, he also works with other musicians and lyricists to bring their uniuqe touches to the project to make it even better.
