Kingdoms & Kastles is a creative and theological outlet for musician, John Hopkins, from a small town in South Africa called Newcastle. The name is an ode to being a Christian in the town of Newcastle; 'Kingdoms' referring to the pursuit for the kingdom of God, 'Kastles' referring to the geographic "kingdom" in which this pursuit happens.

"I write songs about my exploration of faith, theology, and society. They're primarily creative outlets for me and are not attempting to appease anyone other than my need to explore musical and lyrical themes I don't get to explore within a church context."
