In 2005, Larissa was named one the top independent artists by the Independent Artist Registry. Over the years, she has brought her soaring vocals and musical energy to clubs like the Knitting Factory, stages like the Kodak Theatre and to arenas like The Forum. As a finalist in numerous songwriting competitions such as the Billboard World Song Contest, Larissas songwriting is repeatedly recognized for its excellence. Beyond her music, it is Larissas strong stage presence and engaging personality that enable her to connect with diverse audiences all over the world.
In 2005, Larissa released her third album, "Revolutionary," a collection of material showcasing her signature vocals and evocative songwriting. On this album, Larissa collaborated with top musicians and producers who have worked with notable artists from Prince to Christina Aguilera. "Revolutionary" explores many universal themes, including the need for change, shifting priorities, and personal identity.
Growing up in Diamond Bar, CA, Larissa's relationship with music began at age five when she was classically trained on piano. By age 13, she had written her first song. After graduating from UCLA, she became the Chief Financial Officer for independent label NSOUL Records. As a member of dance/Gospel group Nitro Praise, she recorded on three albums and toured nationally for three years. Currently, the Nitro Praise series, the brainchild of veteran DJ and remixer Scott Blackwell, has sold more than 600,000 copies worldwide.
