Great read! | Posted February 05, 2014
As always another great read by Ted Dekker. The suspense kept me on my toes. In this book the Bone Man who is a serial killer who abducted six young women in search of the perfect daughter. He tries to make them love him and when they fail he breaks their bones and leaves them to die. Intelligence officer Ryan Evans, on the other hand, has lost all hope of ever being the perfect father. His daughter and wife have written him out of their lives.

Everything changes when BoneMan takes Ryan's estranged daughter, Bethany, as his seventh victim. Ryan goes after BoneMan on his own.

But the FBI sees it differently. New evidence points to the suspicion that Ryan is BoneMan. Now the hunter is the hunted, and in the end, only one father will stand.

Boneman's Daughters by Ted Dekker | Posted February 08, 2013

This was a very good read. The message of this story is so touching and true. The dad in the end would not give up until he rescued his daughter. If you think about it's like Jesus coming for your and my rescue.

The story has such a beautiful ending.

Great Metaphor | Posted July 28, 2010
Though not as much as a heart-pounding, edge of your seat thriller, this book still provides great suspense while having in depth character development. There is not any cheesy take on love in this book and it did not end as I suspected it would. It did, however, create a great metaphor on a Biblical truth that makes you appreciate the truth that much more.

I Am a Daughter | Posted May 18, 2010
BoneMan's Daughters is a story of beauty and desire, of hatred and malicious intents, and of the love that is able to penetrate even the hardest hearts.

It's the story of Bethany, a young girl caught between two fathers. First, we have her adopted father, Ryan Evans, who has chosen to remain out of her life, instead burying himself in his job as an Intelligence Officer. It's not until a botched mission in Fallujah that his desire to be the father he never was manifests, but is it too late to earn her love? Secondly, we have BoneMan, a serial killer who has abducted and killed 6 girls by meticulously breaking each of their bones. He is the perfect father looking for a daughter, and expects no less than perfection from her. Both are vying for the position of father and in the end, only one will stand.

When BoneMan abducts Bethany to make her his 7th daughter, Ryan immediately responds. But, the FBI has uncovered new evidence that suggests Ryan is BoneMan. Now pursued by the FBI, he must overcome impossible odds to rescue his daughter.

Ted Dekker has yet again woven an intricate and relevant tale that extends beyond its literal interpretation. Often considered a master of his craft, he proves this again with BoneMan's Daughters. This book doesn't affect on a superficial level, but burrows deep into your mind and continues to pose questions long after you close the cover. It is guaranteed to bring in newcomers to his stories, as well as far exceed to expectations of his fans.

Another page turning thriller | Posted May 08, 2010
This is a really good thriller that Ted Dekker has written. His character profiles are very well done and we get to know the characters very well. It is amazing to see what he did with the main character Ryan Evans. I like how he makes you feel like you are traveling all over Texas as well. It has a great ending, but it is tough to write about it without giving it away.

While still written well, it's just not his best work. | Posted February 03, 2010
Boneman's Daughters starts off great, has a sub par middle but a killer finale. I think Ted works well with single people as his characters. Though I do give him credit for trying to make a realistic family drama but it was just kind of boring to read. The beginning, with our main character being kidnapped by terrorists and his imprisionment with them was really well written and gave us some set up as to what the "serial killer of the week's" method of killing is. (Boneman breaks bones. Duh!) The middle half of the book is just kind of boring as it deals with family troubles and the eventual ostracizing the family does to the main character. The last half of this book is pretty much what you read on the inside cover blurb. It is vintage Dekker. He gets us into the mind of the killer as he usually does and always makes the confrontations between the main character and the killer as great as always. (Albit not as terrifying as some of his earlier works like Thr3E or Adam.) But with all of it's misses it's still an enjoyable book that people should definatley read.

LOVED THIS BOOK! I just read it last week. The battle for Evans' daughter is an amazing story. Once you read the concept verse at the very end of the book, you'll understand the struggle for each of us.

This book was simply amazing. The struggle for the heart of one young woman had me captivated from page one. I was reading heart in mouth as I flipped the pages. The storyline was complex and at once completely and utterly believable. This is the way real people are. And this is how God pursues us. Amazing work.
