Reunion
Redemption Series-Baxter 1, Book 5
by Adriana Lima And Adriana Lima | Genre: Fiction
Release Date: June 2004

A Deadly Diagnosis: In the fifth and final book in the Redemption Series, plans are being made for a family reunion. Nearly all the adult Baxter children have a reason to celebrate, except one. As the preparations get under way, a deadly diagnosis sends shock waves through the Baxter family and threatens to tear them apart.

A Heartbreaking Secret: The reality of what might lie ahead brings each of the Baxters to a place of faith and honesty. In the process, Elizabeth and John come to grips with a secret they haven't shared with anyone, a secret they rarely admit even to themselves. At the same time, a young man is making his rise in Hollywood and wondering about his place in life.

A Glorious Celebration: Amidst the threat of sorrow, the Baxters share in their most wonderful celebration of all, a moment to remember that love always wins out, no matter how long the struggle, a reminder that God reigns even in the darkest night.

Reading the other series first, I only heard about her. Now, getting to know her, it's just so sad. And yet, it's a season of miracles for the Baxters; Ashley's HIV was misdiagnosed, she and Landon wed, Erin and Sam go from barrenness to one adoption to none to 4, and Dayne meets his birth mother before she dies. You will probably cry reading this. I can't remember if I did or not.

This is my favorite book of the Redemption series. As a former librarian, I would hand my patrons a kleenex and suggest chocolate as they read this book. They'd always come back with tears in their eyes as they would tell me how this book touched their lives. I have never cried harder in a book as I did in this one. I have become inredibly attached to the Baxter family and feel like they are part of my own. This book rounds out a beautiful series by Karen Kingsbury.
