My Name is Chloe
(Chloe #1)
by Adriana Lima | Genre: Teens
Release Date: January 2003

Chloe, Josh Miller's younger sister, is a free spirit with funky clothes and dramatic hair. She struggles with her own identity, classmates, parents, boys, and -- her biggest question -- whether or not God is for real. But this unconventional high school freshman definitely doesn't hold back when she meets Him in a big, personal way. Refusing to change her image to fit into the "stereotypical Christian preppy mold," Chloe expresses God's love and grace through the girl band she forms, Redemption. In her development as a musician and performer, tender-hearted Chloe will learn tough lessons about following God, her heart, and her dreams.

Amazing! | Posted October 27, 2011
I absolutely love every Diary of a Teenage Girl series, but the Chloe series is my favorite! Music is very important in my life, so I love that this book shows her spiritual transformation through the songs she writes in her diary. I really liked the diversity in Chloe's friend's beliefs in the beginning. It shows that God will forgive anyone, no matter what they believed before they came to him. This book actually helped improve my relationship with God. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to build a stronger relationship with God. In a world where everyone looks up to people like Lady Gaga and Beyonce, Melody Carlson has provided us teen girls with a true role model. Yes, she's fictional, but she shows us how our relationship with God should be.

Great Book | Posted July 16, 2009
I loved this book. I can't help but read it again. It really does give you something to relate too.

Melody Carlson does a great job with writing these books. She makes the characters so relatable that you can't help but laugh or cry with the characters. My Name is Chloe is a must read for any teenaged girl.

I personally can't wait to get the next few books in the Chloe series.

Hi My Name is Chloe by Melody Carlson | Posted July 03, 2008
Hi My Name is Chloe by Melody Carlson is the first book of the Diary of a Teenage Girl series. It depicts the struggles of Chloe Miller, a "rebel" with a passion for music. The main conflict is Chloe's struggles with her beliefs and what she thinks of God. After figuratively getting lost a dark abyss of doubt and confusion, God touches Chloe's heart.

Throughout the story, Chloe expresses her feelings about everything going on in her life via songs and poems at the end of every journal entry.

Carlson does an excellent job in capturing everything going on in a teen's mind as Chloe faces hardships and confusion about topics such as fitting in and God.

Hi My Name is Chloe is an excellent, thought provoking book that I'd recommend to everyone, especially those seeking God for the first time.
