Here's what's happening TODAY in Christian music...
1.
Morgan Harper-Nichols is pretty excited. Her
debut music video for “Storyteller” (featuring her sister
Jamie-Grace) just hit 200,000 views. She’s doing a $12 deal on her site where people get a signed copy of the album, a copy of handwritten lyrics and chords and more.
2. Trevor McNevan of
Thousand Foot Krutch is getting excited for his band’s forthcoming record,
Oxygen: Exhale. He noted that the last record,
Oxygen: Inhale, was always supposed to be on the lighter side, while the next project carries a lot more aggressiveness.
3.
Manafest is starting an
online songwriting course. Find out how to be his star pupil on his various social media.
4. Bands have their own culture, and
Bellarive insisted via a
Facebook photo post that every one of their band meetings must involve ice cream. It’s a rule.
5.
Jason Castro’s daughter had a Madeline themed birthday party, which is especially fitting, given that his daughter’s name is Madeline. There was a cutout of the French youngster’s face for a special birthday photo booth.
6. It’s not exactly Zayn Malik leaving One Direction, but another boy band is having to adjust its lineup… sort of. After five years with Southern Gospel group
Legacy Five, the vocal band’s tenor, Gus Gaches, said the wear and tear on him physically and vocally has led him to step down from the group. The band was sad but supportive.
7. October 1 through November 22,
Kutless,
Mark Schultz,
Rush of Fools,
David Dunn and
Natasha Owens will be scouring the country as part of the
Every Child is Beautiful Tour, sponsored by Holt International. Learn more at any of the band’s websites or social media pages.
8. The song
“Good Good Father” by
HOUSEFIRES is taking the worship world by storm, and it’s the latest cover recorded by
Sarah Reeves. She said the song has been her anthem as of late.
