Here's what's happening TODAY in Christian music...
1. Lots of Christian music things are happening down in Orlando right now, and one of those was that
tobyMac just won the
Rich Mullins Impact Award at the Christian Music Broadcasters Momentum Conference!
2. Elsewhere in Orlando,
Jason Gray took time to listen to his good friend and fellow singer-songwriter
Andrew Peterson play for some radio sponsors in a special, intimate acoustic gathering. Jason called his friend "one of Christendom's finest writers" and marveled at the lyrics of the song he listened to, "Be Kind to Yourself."
3. And while in Orlando, what better to do than to go to Disney World? Dustin from
Finding Favour let his inner child take over and found himself donning a special R2-D2-themed Mickey Mouse ears hat. His expression didn't quite capture the inner jubilation he must've been holding back.
4. David Zach of
Remedy Drive is in Southeast Asia again, likely on another mission with counter-trafficking operatives the Exodus Road. He did, however, have some time to take a picture of the green curry soup he was eating there.
5.
Bryce Avary announced this week that at last, a new album from
The Rocket Summer is coming, and he's been so quiet for so long because he's been working hard on making a milestone record with new sounds and content he really wants to get off his chest. Fans can preorder the album
via the PledgeMusic crowdfunding platform. More info coming soon.
6. It appears that
Rend Collective has started a record label! They announced
via Instagram this week Rend Family Records. We're hoping to hear more about this very soon.
7. It's been a while since we've seen regular videos from
Family Force 5, but they're back with a brand new series called "30 Second Variety Hour" where they make silly and completely random short videos. Most recently, Crouton pretended to be an ice skates salesman. Click
here to see the video.
8. We're waiting to hear more about this story, but there's apparently a button going around that says "I got punched by Mark Hall."
Kyle Sherman shared his button on
social media, but no further explanation as to what his interaction with the
Casting Crowns frontman was.

2. "He rebuilds what was broken; He raises up our ruins, repays what was stolen and restores glory to what was barren. He releases new strength, to all He calls His. When He speaks His truth and love into our hearts, our only possible response is to draw near to Him." -
Amanda Cook of
Bethel Music
3. "I just can't sit around and be cool with seeing people be so misled... it's just time for a lot of people to wake up." - Rapper
