Adam Young, the creative mastermind between pop project Owl City, has announced a new musical project in the style of film scores to be released in 2016.
The project is simply titled Adam Young Scores, with information available at
http://www.ayoungscores.com/. Fans can sign up for a newsletter to continue to get updates about the new venture. The first of the new tracks are due out on February 1. The music will be available to download or stream for free via the website, or else to purchase through major digital retailers. New music is expected to release monthly, accompanied by visual companions created by artist James R. Eads.
"The revelation of a person's first love of music is different for everyone, but for me, it was film scores -- original music written to accompany motion pictures. These types of atmospheres and anthems spoke my language and I remember experiencing a feeling of wide-eyed wonder while listening to my favorite composers," Adam Young says of the project's inspiration. "The talent and prowess of John Williams, Harry Gregson-Williams, James Horner, Thomas Newman and Alan Silvestri exposed me to a creative canon I'd never experienced before. I felt as though I'd stumbled into a universe that was made just for me. It spoke to my heart, moved me deeply, and gave me the confidence to drop everything and say, 'That. I want to do that.'"
This new musical project follows 2015's
Mobile Orchestra, an album which continued to see the pop sensation making waves across the globe, as Owl City has done since the 2009 smash hit
Ocean Eyes. You can stay tuned for updates on all of Adam's ventures at his
