Vertical Church Band has emerged over the past few years as a powerhouse group of Chicagoland worshippers, bringing fresh new congregational songs to Sunday mornings all over the world--but it doesn't mean they only sing their own songs.
Two of the group's worship leaders Lauren Smith and Jon Guerra (a solo artist in his own right) released an acoustic rendition of the song "Soon" by Hillsong UNITED. It's an oldie but a goodie from the Aussies, taken from 2009's Across the Earth: Tear Down the Walls that originally featured Brooke Fraser on lead vocals.
Guerra was excited to reintroduce the song to VCB's audience, writing to fans, "This song beautifully captures the very real longing that is central to the life of faith: the longing to be united with the one you love, the one who loves you."
