Politics and Christian music collided recently when prominent presidential candidate and United States Senator Ted Cruz spoke at a Winter Jam stop. Cruz opened the night in prayer before hanging out with a few artists backstage. Among those artists were rock group RED, who posed for a photo with Senator Cruz and his videographer Chris Corrado. Coincidentally, Chris shot the band's music video for "Release The Panic."
Cruz also got to meet and pose for a photo with prominent CCM artist Matthew West.
Currently in the midst of the 2016 Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, West is co-headlining the night with for King & Country. Cruz is running second in most national polls for the Republican nomination for President of the United States.
This isn't the first time politics and Winter Jam have collided this year. Earlier in the year, presidential candidate Ben Carson opened up a Winter Jam in prayer.
