On July 12, 2016, Skillet's 2013 album
Rise was certified Gold by the RIAA, according to
riaa.com. This follows the recent certification of the band's signature 2006 album,
Comatose, being certified Platinum. Both join the band's 2009 release,
Awake, in the RIAA certifications, with
Awake also being platinum. Several of the band's individual singles have also reached various degrees of RIAA certification.
This comes a few weeks before the band drops their highly anticipated new album,
Unleashed-- continuing a trend, as
Awake reached platinum certification directly before the 2013 release of
Rise.
Unleashed will mark Skillet's first new release since
Rise, and lead singles "Feel Invincible" and "Stars" are already climbing the charts, promising to be hits for the band.
Unleashed releases August 5. The first three tracks from the album are available to purchase now
here.
