GRAMMY and Dove Award nominated worshipers All Sons & Daughters released their fourth full-length album, Poets & Saints, last week to 5-star critical acclaim as the project hit No. 1 on the SoundScan Praise & Worship chart and No. 1 on the iTunes® Christian & Gospel Albums chart in the U.S., holding that position all week and hitting as high as No. 6 on the iTunes overall Albums chart. Poets & Saints also hit No. 4 on both the Billboard Top Christian/Gospel and Folk charts, No. 10 on Billboard's overall Independent chart and No. 3 on the UK Official Christian & Gospel Albums chart.
The album's first single, "I Surrender," which was co-written by Jason Ingram and inspired by the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, sets the tone for the recording. This track, as with every turn on the album, which was produced by All Sons & Daughters and Chad Copelin (Crowder, Gungor),explores new sonic territory for the band. The duo's David Leonard narrates the story of the song here, as well as tells the story of "Rest In You" inspired by St. Augustine and against the backdrop of Milan here.
In addition to the album, All Sons & Daughters' pastor, Jamie George, penned a companion book, Poets and Saints: Eternal Insight, Extravagant Love, Ordinary People, which delves into the lives of the poets (writers) and saints who inspired the songs. And together, George and AS&D's Leonard and Leslie Jordan created the Poets & Saints video-based curriculum and a study guide, Poets & Saints: A Community Experience, for churches and small groups.
The "Poets & Saints" concept took shape when All Sons & Daughters, George and a film crew ventured to Europe to trace the lives of C.S. Lewis, Saint Patrick, John Newton, Saint Thérèse, Saint Francis, William Cowper, Saint Augustine, George MacDonald and others, mining for undiscovered gems, something to connect these individuals to modern believers. The resulting epic journey into the lives and stories of these Christ-followers that God used to wake up the world forms an interactive worship experience that introduces 10 important influencers in Christendom, while making a very human connection between their lives and the lives of Christians today.
Together, these resources are resonating with critics and others discovering Poets & Saints:

"Poets & Saints, All Sons & Daughters' fourth studio album, is not only a history lesson combined with worship, but it also experiments with combining several musical elements: jazz, folk, bluegrass, country and contemporary worship.
