Red Letter Hymnal has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new album, scheduled to be completed in June of 2017. "We wanted to thank you for supporting us this far and reach out to you to share some exciting news. We are currently recording a Brand New Album which is slated to be released Summer 2017! But we need your help to be able to release it. It would be AWESOME if you would prayerfully consider making a donation to our ministry," the band said in an email to fans. Red Letter Hymnal is among a growing group of artists such as
Disciple,
JJ Heller,
Matthew Parker and
Anthem Lights who have used Kickstarter to fund projects this year.

While the majority of the money needed to create the album has already been raised, this Kickstarter has a goal of $4,000 for the remaining costs. "Our goal is to fund our band's second album and for it to be a high quality Christ centered album. There are not a lot of christian artist creating the type of music we are writing and their is a void for it. EDM/Electro Pop/Dubstep has exploded in popularity in recent years. There is a spiritual void in this area of music we seek to help fill," they wrote on the campaign page. Within the first 48 hours of the campaign being up, the project has already reached 30% funding.
"We already have many songs that will be on this next album and we are well into the recording process for the album. We are blessed to have years of experience in the music industry. This has allowed us to hone in our craft from song writing, live performance, and working in the studio," Red Letter says of taking on this project as an independent band.
The campaign will be live until January 19th. Click
