More than 25 million cans will bear the images of popular Christian music artists, and tonight in Nashville, Pepsi MidAmerica and the KLOVE Fan Awards revealed the singers and bands chosen.
In Pepsi MidAmerica's region--which includes Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee--soda drinkers will be greeted with for KING & COUNTRY on their Pepsi cans, Casting Crowns on their Dr. Peppers, Britt Nicole on Mountain Dew cans, and Josh Wilson on cans of Diet Pepsi.
In addition, a Christian artist also will grace the front of the 7UP can as a result of fans voting between Jamie Grace, Tenth Avenue North, Sidewalk Prophets or Hillsong Young & Free. The winner will be revealed at the KLOVE Fan Awards on Sunday.
This year's speciality cans--a promotion between KLOVE and Pepsi MidAmerica--will more than double last year's run of 12 million Christian music-branded soft drinks, reflecting the company's increased commitment to the groundbreaking concept. Last year's cover artists included Matthew West, Matt Maher, tobyMac and Francesca Battistelli.
"Pepsi MidAmerica is honored to partner with K-LOVE to present the Christian Artist Can Panel series featuring some of Christian music's finest artists," said Pepsi MidAmerica President Lee Crisp. "These Pepsi cans were originally intended to quench thirst but now we realize they're able to quench a deeper thirst ... a thirst of the soul."
