New Tooth & Nail rock band Artifex Pereo had just started as part of Wolves at the Gate’s CD release tour, but ailments have caused the band to suspend shows for the time being.
In a statement posted on the band’s official Facebook page, guitarist Jordan Haynes informed fans that drummer Cory Eaves was experiencing “severe back pain” and had spent Monday night (June 9) in the emergency room in Buffalo, N.Y.
“[Cory] is being recommended to see a specialist immediately,” Haynes wrote. “Even sitting upright is a task at the moment. We need to get [the] dude healthy so that we can stay out on the road.”
Artifex Pereo, who just released a new album of their own, was four shows into the nine-date tour with Wolves at the Gate, Phinehas and The Orphan The Poet before Eaves’ back issues. The band is scheduled to begin its next tour with The Orphan The Poet, Icarus the Owl and Envoi July 5 in Ohio.
Reflecting on their short stint with the CD release tour, Haynes wrote: “It was an amazing opportunity to share the stage with WATG, Phinehas and the the Orphan, the Poet. Very humbling. Please find yourself at one of the remaining shows on this run. These are some amazing and hard working guys that deserve your attention and support.
“We are very sorry to have let anyone down,” he concluded. “We are keeping positive vibes and hope to right the ship quickly. Thanks for understanding!”
The rest of the tour moves on to New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee before finishing in Georgia June 14.
