Pop/rock band August Rain is mourning the loss of their keyboard player and backup vocalist, Denise Bowen. The singer, who recently found out that she had an advanced form of bile duct cancer, passed away earlier this week after a hard fight with her faith and "various medicinal methods."
August Rain has released the single "Hold On," from their most recent album Mercy! Mercy!, in dedication to Denise's life. "Thank you to everyone who has played the single. It has been appreciated by the band as well as the family. All of the proceeds from any airplay or downloads of the song, go towards the medical bills they accumulated. If the amount to pay her medical bills is exceeded, we encountered a number of patients unable to pay their bills for their medical care for cancer so we would forward that to those families. Thank you again for playing the single and if you would like to start playing the single we would really appreciate it. It not only spreads a message of hope in the most dire of circumstances, but is dedicated to the life of a great woman of faith and will go towards helping her family pay medical bills as well as others having the same issue," August Rain shared.
The band (follow them on Facebook here) is asking for prayers for the family, including their drummer and Denise's husband, Frank Bowen. Left behind to cherish her memory is husband Frank, two adult daughters, a son-in-law, an 11 year old daughter and four grandchildren. "We appreciate your prayers during this unexplainable time of great grief. We know that Denise is with the Father, but there is so many here on this planet that will be grieving their loss of her in their lives. She touched everyone in her life, down to the last nurse to care for her in the hospital. Thank you again for the support we've received, and thank you in advance for any prayers and support."
