With the second Jesus Freak Cruise getting ready to set sail in June, the marketing company behind the cruise is amping up the stakes as they work to a full ship sell-out.
First, cruisers were entered to win a round of cornhole with TobyMac. Then, they were entered to win lunch with Michael Tait. Finally, anyone booking this year's cruise will be entered to sing karaoke with Kevin Max.
All great opportunities, for sure, but PREMIER Vacations and Events wanted to upthe ante, so to speak. So, one lucky cruiser will get the opportunity to walk the plank with all three members of dc Talk!
It's sounds crazy, but the details will quickly calm fears that this will be the end of their hopes for an eventual band reunion on land along with a scary end for the eventual winner on the boat. In that order.
"The safety of our guests is always our top priority," says April Sloof, spokesman for the cruise. "We would never invite a guest into harm's way."
Which is why the event will be performed atport with the guest and band jumping off in tandem to an inflatable dock below that will be stocked with a catered lunch that they will enjoy together as they are safely brought back to shore.
When reached for comment, TobyMac said he had to call his manager and quickly hung up. Michael Tait sort of sing/yelled, "Wait, what?" And Kevin Max asked, "can I push Toby over?" We're sure wewas joking.
The Jesus Freak Cruise sets sail June 10,2019 and will include performances at sea with dc Talk, TobyMac, Newsboys, Kevin Max, Mandisa, Ryan Stevenson, Aaron Cole and John Crist. More info can be found at JesusFreakCruise.com.
