Red Street Records, the Christian music
record label launched last year by Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus, held a press conference in Nashville, Tennessee today to announce the signing of two brand new artists:
Reagan Strange and
Cade Thompson.
DeMarcus, who launched the label last fall with the signing of legendary group Avalon, spoke about how he truly believes these two artists are going to be "bright" for the future of Christian music. He shared that what led him to sign both Reagan and Cade was not just their talent, but also their heart for Christ and their anticipation to impact their generation with a positive influence.
DeMarcus first met Reagan Strange when Rascal Flatts visited the set of NBC's
The Voice during season 15, where Reagan reached the semifinals at the stunning young age of 15. Jay says he was blown away by her voice, then sat down to meet with her and her mother after the show ended, and there "fell in love" with her heart for God and her generation.
As for Cade Thompson, DeMarcus says a friend sent him a link to some of Cade's music, and as he listened, he was captivated by what he heard. Again, DeMarcus says he was drawn to Cade's heart for Christ, "the heart that is aligned with this whole company."
"I'm so excited to create some new music that will inspire people," Strange shared at the press conference. Likewise, Thompson voiced his excitement for the next year and the new music to come.
