Four years after Lacey Sturm's historic debut solo album Life Screams, Lacey went live on social media with her husband Joshua Sturm to announce a new single, along with a promise of additional future music. The new single is called "The Decree" but it is not released yet and does not have a release date. In a response via comment, they say, "New single coming soon - it's called The Decree and it rocks! - Josh"

Lacey went on a short solo tour in fall of 2019 and played two new songs at most, if not all, performances. "The Decree" was one of them, along with an unannounced song called "State of Me." During the most recent livestream, the couple described how the long process has been due primarily to them producing and engineering the music themselves. This is something they chose and desire to do, but unfortunately has taken longer than having a studio help make it. However, it does allow for more creativity on their part. 

With the release of Life Screams, Sturm became the first solo female to top the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart as the album sold 9,000 copies in its first week in the United States. It went to top multiple charts, including an eventual #1 spot, US Billboard 200 at #74, US Top Alternative Albums (Billboard) at #7, US Top Hard Rock Albums (Billboard) at #1, US Independent Albums (Billboard) at #3, and US Top Rock Albums (Billboard) at #8. Lacey Sturm tries to go live every week on her official Instagram account to play acoustic songs and interact with fans.
