John Cooper, the lead singer of GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum rock band, Skillet, has been making plenty of headlines over the past year as he challenges society’s push into a Post Christendom world, cancel culture, and woke mentality.
Amassing a huge audience hungry to hear more and more from the artist that’s pulling no punches on a wide range of topics, the band has announced that it will be rewriting Cooper’s most shared posts into a new, cinematic rock, full-length album titled, Awoke.
“I’m so excited to merge my current loves together: Amazing rock music, the truth that Jesus brought to humanity and challenging the redefinition of truth in our culture,” shares Cooper. “Together, this is going to be the best album we’ve ever released."
The themes on the album are inspired by some of Cooper's most passionate recent vlogs including "Beards: Why Everyone Should Have One," "The 80s: The Only Decades That Matters," "Concert Baptism by Holy Sweat" and the controversial topic, "Which Tattoos Would Jesus Have?"
An early leaked tracklist of Awoke includes the title track, “The Resistance: Part 2,” the Biblically correct pronoun inspired track, "HERo and HIMo," "Not Gonna Cancel," and the recently added, “Hitler WAP."
