On July 26, three members of the Gospel Hall of Fame quartet, The Nelons, died in a fatal plane crash in Wyoming. Seven people were on the plane, and there were no survivors.
Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband, Jason Clark, and their daughter, Amber Nelon Kistler, died in the crash. Amber's husband, Nathan Kistler, The Nelon's assistant, Melodi Hodges, the pilot, Larry Haynie, and his wife, Melissa, were also among those killed in the crash, according to Fox News. The only surviving member of The Nelons who was not on the plane was Autumn Nelon Streetman, who's currently expecting a baby boy with her husband, Jamie Streetman.
"Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason's parents, Dan and Linda Clark," Autumn said in a statement on Instagram. "We appreciate your continued prayers, love, and support as we navigate the coming days."
According to a statement from Gaither Management Group, The Nelons were on their way to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise in Alaska. Shortly before the tragic crash, The Nelons posted a "Gaither Alaskan Cruise Travel Vlog" on Instagram showing that their plane had landed in Nebraska City, where they were taking a rest break. That very same day, their plane crashed in Wyoming.
The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the crash, but it's been told that an "autopilot issue during flight" was the cause of the accident.
