Music icons Van Zant–comprised of Donnie Van Zant, who co-founded .38 Special, and brother Johnny Van Zant, who is the current lead vocalist for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd–have reunited and returned to the studio to record their first Christian album. Always Look Up releases on Friday, November 22 (pre-save here).
Today, the band premieres their second single, and accompanying music video, from the upcoming record. You can be the first to watch and listen to "There You Are" below.
"'There You Are' came to us very quickly when we first had the idea to do gospel music," shares Donnie Van Zant. "We knew everyone could relate to having low points in life. We are not exempt and have been through tough times so we wanted to use our experiences and how we got through to the other side."
"You have to lean into God when he gives you obstacles," continues Johnny Van Zant. "He knows the reason that the path may be hard right now. He knows it is giving you strength. God gives us exactly what we need when we trust in Him. It may not always be what we imagined but you ask, and He will answer. Our wish with this song is to inspire everyone and give hope for those dark times. Remember, He is always there, you just have to have faith and there HE is. He will always get us through!"
