Paper Route has announced their signing to Kemosabe, a division of Sony Records.
The alternative rock group released their last album, 2012's standout
The Peace of the Wild Things, as an independent group following complicated record label relationships on debut album
Absence. In
a statement on the band's website however, they shared that they always understood that their independent positioning couldn't last.
"We refused to be that bitter band you find in the back of every local show complaining about the record industry and crying wolf to every new artist," the statement reads. "Evolve or die. This brings us to Kemosabe/Sony records. When we first sat down with them a few months ago it all seemed too good to be true. We have never met a team as focused, passionate, or real as them."
This announcement comes directly after the official addition of guitarist Nicholas Aranda to the group. Nick has been touring with the band in support of
The Peace of the Wild Things since 2012, but his position in the band is now official.
