Peter Furler played a special throwback set Friday at NewReleaseToday's acoustic stage at Creation Northwest, featuring songs like "Breakfast", "He Reigns" and "I'm Not Ashamed." Making it even more historic was the fact that he was flanked by former
Audio Adrenaline members Dave Ghazarian (also formerly of
Superchick) and Jared Byers (also formerly of
Bleach). It was a bunch of Christian music history rolled into one epic band.
2. Speaking of Creation Fest,
Lincoln Brewster's drummer felt ill in the 100 degree temperatures, and had to bow out with two songs left in the set. Never fear, the monitor engineer is here. Lincoln's monitor engineer jumped on the drums and gave a flawless performance.

TobyMac looks like a gangster in his newest music video. He shared a screen shot from the upcoming video for "Feel It" with his Diverse City Band. Check out his fedora and sunglass rocking video when his
album releases Aug. 7.
4. Smartphone maker HTC used
for KING & COUNTRY's song "Busted Heart (Hold On To Me)" in a recent commercial. We're thinking their users may be dropping their phones a lot?

Colton Dixon and
Skillet guitarist Seth Morrison hung out last week, and they must be really good friends, because they got haircuts together. For someone with hair like Colton's, that's a major seal of approval for his buddy Seth.

Shaun Groves was blown away by a recent concert where he represented Compassion International. The singer/speaker said that while others have said Nashville was "tapped out," God said differently, as 663 new Compassion kids were sponsored that night.

Stephanie Smith was at Creation Fest on business as a fill-in member of
I AM THEY, the highlight of her time was seeing
Switchfoot live, an experience she says made her feel alive. It's great to see Christian artists be fans of each other.
8. Some bands give away merch or CDs. Adam Young of
Owl City gives away signed copies of old video games. For his "Free Swag Friday" last week, he gave away an autographed copy of Wave Race 64 (for the Nintendo 64). We're holding out hope he gets his hand on Goldeneye 007.
