great fun, easy read! | Posted October-06-2010
I'm a girl, but not too girly. I've never really been the type to read romance books or watch sappy love movies. I found this book in Barnes & Noble one day, because the title caught my eye. Never The Bride? Hmm. Sounds like me!

I picked it up, and immediately identified with the main character, Jessie. She's secretly in love with her best friend, has a crazy job, and after being a bridesmaid seven times, is still not married. The man she was supposed to marry cheated on her.

One day, God appears in her life, and becomes a part of her everyday routine. He encourages her to hand over the pen to her love story.

Along the way, you see Jessie's doubts. You see her fully put her trust in God, but you also see her struggles.

When I was reading this book, which only took me three days to complete, I felt like I was there. It was fun!

I also found out that this novel is a screenplay! So one day it could be in theaters :)

Sleeping At Last is one of those hidden bands that once you hear them, you can't get enough. Seeing them live is such a great experience as well. This album has so many great songs on it...they are very talented musicians, but also great lyricists as well. My favorites include "Birdcage Religion", "Green Screens" & "Porcelain". They have such a fresh sound!

If you enjoy bands like As Cities Burn, Copeland, Leeland, and Cool Hand Luke, you'll love Sleeping At Last. :)

This album is amazing!
Powerful lyrics, great music, and awesome vocals all from a band from Abilene, Texas. Crazy. And to make it even better, they're a band spreading their message with lyrics like, "This is my worship, this is my life, to bring hope into this broken world" on a secular, independent record label (Victory Records) and touring around the world with secular bands as well. Every song is great...especially their first single "Song For The Broken"...and this album is definitely worth listening to all the way through. You won't need to skip through to your favorite track, because they will ALL be your favorite! haha.

They also put on an awesome, energetic live show! This is a band that is going to be big and continue to spread hope and love to people through their music.

Of course I had the original "The Question", but when this came out, I had to get it! The Deluxe Edition is completely worth it. Emery does acoustic SO WELL! The acoustic versions of all the songs, especially "The Ponytail Parades" and "Walls" are absolutely beautiful and brilliant! You're missing out if you still have just the original "The Question" album!

I just finished Eric and Leslie Ludy's When God Writes Your Love Story, and wow!

This book is timeless! They have so much input and Godly wisdom that will last from generation to generation.

I loved every part of this book. I have always wanted God at the center of my love life, but never fully turned everything over to him, the "Pen" as the authors put it. They talk about the "sweeter song", the beautiful side of romance that comes from a relationship centered and shaped by Christ. I cannot wait for my beautiful love story to develop.

This book is for any young Christian who wants a love worth waiting for...who has dreamed of the perfect love instead of temporary relationship after relationship! All aspects are covered: purity, romance, past relationships, accountability, and Jesus! :)

This album has been out for forever but I cannot stop listening to it! Every song is as refreshing as the one before. I love the entire album as a whole and there is not one song that I believe does not deserve to be in the collection!

Can't wait for New Surrender!

I really loved this CD/DVD. The DVD was filmed so well! Everything about it was done very professionally and it looks great. I like how on the CD the songs were recorded at different places...you get to hear what they are like on different nights! If you love Underoath you'll love this!

This CD is amazing...it is so energetic and fun.
"Oh! Emetophobia!" is so catchy and good, it was stuck in my head ALL SUMMER until I finally bought the CD. The members have such an energy, and of course they love Jesus, so their live show is just as crazy! I would definitely check Showbread out!

Misconceptions | Posted August-25-2007
A lot of people were looking for this to be a 'Christian' record. While some of the lyrics are good, and of course the music is great, I wouldn't call this a Christian Rock record.

I was actually pretty upset when I heard "Misery Business" on Christian Rock radio. I love the song, but it's not a Christian song. It belongs on the secular alternative rock stations...which is fine.

So many times, secular bands, or even Christian bands, get thrusted into the spotlight and have their little breakout moment. For Paramore, this CD, and the single "Misery Business" is theirs. 'All We Know Is Falling' got them on the map, and now they're all over the place.

Yes, they are Christians, but not every 'Christian' is going to spend their time, money, record deal, and touring opportunities on songs that glorify our Savior.

That's a little something to think about.

Anyways...
I like the record. I'm not a fan of the slower songs like "We Are Broken"...but I love "That's What You Get"...

Sufjan is amazing. A lot of people don\'t enjoy his music, but I think everyone should have a listen at least once. \"The Man Of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts\" basically STOLE MY HEART...haha...after hearing that song I was hooked!!
