A Reluctant Queen by A Reluctant Queen by
This looks like a wonderful book to read...I can't wait to encourage my library to get it so I can read it! Living in a small town with a small town library sometimes makes learning about new authors...
What If We Were Real by Mandisa What If We Were Real by Mandisa
I just listened to stronger and it was absolutely amazing. It helped to know that Mandisa also had a testimony concerning that song and I was blessed by reading all of the positive comments it got...
Hundred More Years by Francesca Hundred More Years by Francesca
I love, love, love her Paper Heart album. It's awesome and the songs are very applicable to my life right now. I usually listen to it on my way to class. It's so refreshing to enter the classroom...

She's baaaaaaaack | Posted October-05-2009
And better than ever. After realizing that God made her and she's plain special Essie embraces all her differences. And she uses them to her advantage. But there's a new guy in town...and he wants...her business?!?! To find more you should read the continuation of Essie's life journey. The beginning was good but this book will having you rolling on the floor laughing. After reading it I was convinced that Deeanne Gist is a genius and has a God give talent and a way with words.

Go Essie!! | Posted October-05-2009
This book is not for the faint of heart! I'm kidding but this book was -I almost can't put it into words. Deeanne Gist has a gift for writing the most likeable characters. Essie goes through so much because she-like some women today-thinks that she needs a man. Despite all her tests and trials (most which come of her own making :P) Essie finally finds the man she was looking for all along and to her surprise he's been there the whole time. I recommend nay I challenge you to read this book. Perhaps you like Essie shall find that you are just the person that God made you to be.

Devotion and Life | Posted October-05-2009
This was truly a devotional for me. I borrowed from the public library but I will definitely buy this book as soon as I can. We are all sinners and as christians some of us (ME) have messed up royally. But God has provided EXAMPLES and Liz Curtis Higgs (her name just rolls off the tongue... no?) brings these examples to life. We can apply them to ourselves (well as women-but I have a feeling that everyone-can relate to these women as well)...Check this out-this is one book that you don't want to miss! I also recommend her other books!

A Wonderful Read | Posted October-05-2009
Proof that God is always saving the lost. Sabrina is an awesome character and you will love reading about how she grows in Christ and as a person. Starting as a prostitute at a young age this book literally takes you out of your chair and into the lives of these people who are simply living. Poignant, beautiful, and so utterly Lori Wick-this is one of the best books I have read.

One of my fave books ever! | Posted October-05-2009
I loved this book and I read it twice, once on my own and in class. It was the only book I read in my class that I thoroughly enjoyed beginning to end. Though to be honest it's size is what drew me to it in the beginning. It's a pretty small book.
If you have ever been persuaded from something you know is right then you can relate to Anne Elliot (the heroine). But you find your self rooting for her as she overcomes obstacles within herself and around her. She's a memorable character.
And that's all I am going to say about it-I would rather you read the book for yourself.

A good fireside book | Posted October-05-2009
It's a good classic and a nice way to spend the afternoon but I'm not in love with this book. To me Jane Austen has so many other books that are ( cough better cough) very good as well. While I enjoyed reading it-I found that it was not a book that I would want to read again and again. But it is a good classic and I do recommend it for those that enjoy historical romances and such...

Awesome Conclusion | Posted October-05-2009
My sister bought these books and we read them together. I was blown away by the whole series and I found myself cheering for Owen throughout his entire adventure... And the ending is incredible. I recommend this series to anyone into fantasy and allegorical works. I'm sure that you will have as much fun as I did reading about Owen!

Old Favorites New Sound | Posted September-28-2009
I have to say that Out of Eden as a group was one of the first christian artists I started listening to when I was younger. Back then, I was amazed that christian artists could sound so amazing.
So when this CD came out I immediately asked my mother to get it (I was young...don't judge me)for me. It was different from their last CD. For instance, the song "Meditate" is definitely a worship song meant to bring the listener closer to that worship state to praise God.
Then you have "Showpiece" which is completely different! It brings attention to the way women are viewed and treated. Although the CD was released in 2002 the message is still relevant today.
Most of the songs on the album have a hip/hop beat or an R&B feel but they are definitely all about the Creator. The messages of the songs deal with problems of today and how God is always there.
To me the CD will timeless because of the messages the songs carry alone. But they (the songs) still carry a contemporary feel. I recommend this CD for someone looking for something new, and something bold.

A Classic! | Posted September-27-2009
I love this book. I have lost count of how many times I have read it. I have almost lost count of how many copies I have. I have way too many-that's for sure.
It's about a girl (Jane Eyre)who lives through some awful experiences but remains faithful to God through out everything.
What if you could have everything you've ever wanted, a lifelong love, and riches beyond your imagination? But you had a choice to make-to follow what God says or to do what you want to do? Well Jane makes this choice and nothing goes like she thinks it will.
It is truly a classic and I had fun reading about Jane and her life experiences. The language can get tedious at times (but not for me-I LOVE it just That much... ) but it's a story worth sticking with to the very end. Happy Reading!

True Beauty | Posted September-27-2009
This was one of the first books I read by Janette Oke and I was completely blown away by her writing style. Centered on Berta the book is about two women and the choices they made to become who they are.

Berta feels like so many of us do, left out of the limelight. And instead of wanting to believe she is worthy of being (outwardly) beautiful-she becomes how she thinks everyone sees her.

It's truly a astonishing journey of how one woman finally comes back to herself and the God who has thought she was beautiful all the while. I believe so many women can relate to her story. It was a good read, and I highly recommend anything Janette Oke wrote.
