Another Cookie Cutter Pop Album | Posted February-21-2014
There were definatly some good things in this album, but it didn't amaze me.
Loftland's style is very pop-electric with a good beat that drives their songs. Their album's basically a bunch of catchy dance songs with uplifting lyrics. The lyrics weren't particullarly deep, but for this genre I guess they don't have to be. The truth though is that nothing stood out to me. Every song had the classic structure and the album sounded like any other dance album. I guess this was one of those I'd call a cookie-cutter pop album. It didn't carry anything unique, it was just catchy good filler music. I listened to it once and don't need to hear it again. Describing their sound, it seemed like a blend of dance/electric/pop music with some elements from One Direction and Hawk Nelson. If you really like dance music you might get into them, but if you're looking for something special you're not going to find it here.
Such a Good Book! | Posted August-02-2013
Wow, this was good. I loved the Dragons in Our Midst series, and the Oracles of Fire is amazing too. This book specifically was incredibly sweet, exciting, touching, and full of adventure like all the others. I also love how real all the people in the book are. Seriously, they've become my best friends. Such a good read!
Perfectly Unique | Posted June-30-2013
I really liked this book! Sometimes it's hard for me to sit down and read something besides fiction, but this was surely worth it. I love how honest Annie was, and how quirky she can be. It felt like she was right there. All teen girls should read this. They'll finish it with a smile on there face! :)

Wow. That perfectly describes this book. It's SO incredible. Probably one of my favorites I've ever read. It's so captivating- you never want to put it down. It's so emotional, it's so engaging, and the characters feel so real. Everything about this book is 'Wow'. If you've never read it, your missing out! Go start the series now, and prepare to be extreemly shocked by the time you reach this book! It's incredible. <3
Raising Dragons | Posted June-30-2013 Raising Dragons left you with a good feeling. I honestly was not a fan of books with mythical creatures, but after reading this my opinion totally changed. They integrated the mythical elements into this book perfectly without overpowering our modern world. I thought that the friendship Bonnie and Billy developed was really sweet. There are some tense, exciting, and even a few scary moments in the book, but they seemed balanced perfectly, and anything bad that happened seemed to turn out just okay by the end. I certainly recommend you read this book.
The series Dragons in our Midst is wonderful. You must read it. I loved all the books, but they build up to the best. While this is an enjoyable book, I felt like I didn't appreciate it as much until I read the rest of the series. While you could just read this book alone, you're missing out on all the other amazing stuff that goes on. I strongly urge reading the rest, even if this book isn't your favorite. It will be by the time you finish the series. It was such a good book!!!!
Favorite Song | Posted February-21-2014
'Eye On It' is once again a coloful tobyMac album. With it's good vocals and beats, this album has got a lot going for itself.
'Me Without You' is a perfect opening. It's got a great vibe, and wonderful lyrics.
Following the opening is 'Steal My Show'. The song is creatively arraned, and the message is about letting God control your life. Giving it up to him.
'Eye On It' is total epicness. It's such a great song of determination. Tobymac says that it's about being "Driven to pursue pationately a relationship with God", and boy, this song's got drive. Skipping to the 6th song on the album, "Unstopable" you'll find the same determination as 'Eye On It'. Featuring Blanca from Group1Crew, she adds her powerful vocals to top off this killer song.
'Lost Myself' seems to reflect Matthew 10:39. "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." It's such a great verse, and such a great song.
Going on to song 9, "Thankful for You" we are once again introduced to a catchy tune.
'Made For Me' is clever and 'Mac Daddy (Tru's Reality)' is humourous. Both song add a nice spin to the album.
The final song, and my personal favorite, is 'Favorite Song'. No joke, it is the best one on the album. Jamie Grace joins tobyMac for an amazing collaboartion full of coloful harmonies, encouragin lyrics, and great music. It's truely amazing.
'Eye On It' is a fantastic album. It's fresh, yet full of the classic tobyMac we know. You won't be disapointed!
Love Has Come For Me | Posted June-24-2013
Colton Dixon made an incredible first album. The rock is amazing and the vocals are blended perfectly. With a mix of piano and electric guitar, fast and slow songs, 'A Messenger' has got it all.
The 'Intro' builds up excitment as we dive headfirst into 'Noise'. In a world with so many distractions, we need to listen for God's voice.
Moving on, we hear 'I'll Be The Light'. It's a little slower than the previous song, but still just as pasionate.
Colton's first radio single, 'You Are' is a beautiful worship song. It's very meaningful and full of emotion.
'Never Gone' is one of my favorites. "I'm still standing here, No I didn't disapear. Now the lights are on, See I was never gone. I let go of your hand, To help you understand. With you all along, Oh, I was never gone." It talks about God being there for you. Always. He'll never leave you, or forsake you, he'll always be there even when we can't find him. This song is so full.
Next we see 'Love Has Come For Me'. The best line has got to be "I'm never gonna get it all together. So what's left to do but surrender". I find it so amazing how true the song can be for me.
'Scars' is simply touching. All those things we wish we could change, all those things we regret. "Scars remind us who we are". The bridge is incredibly powerful. It's a desperate cry out to God. I love how at the end of the song it changes from 'Our scars' to 'Your scars' . It's so amazing to think of Jesus dying for us, and what it took. 'Scars' hits so many key points. It's beautiful.
'Rise' and 'Where My Heart Goes' perfectly follow the past songs. I personally love the bridge of 'Where My Heart Goes'. "Runs to, cligns to, Jesus, I so need You. I want You to be where my heart goes". Mix that with the killer vocals, and you're 'wowed'.
'This Is Who I Am' is rocking. It's excelent and exciting.
The most exhilerating song on the album is 'In and Out of Time'. It's fast pace, builds to a climax, and crazy. It's just awesome!
The final song on the album is 'Let Them See You' . Colton considered it the album's missing piece, but now it ties together everything perfectly. It's the only exclusivly piano song on the album, and it's also the prettiest.
The vocals on this album are huge. They're so cool. The instruments are amazing. The lyrics are gripping. This album is literally invigerating. It's one of my all time favorites. It will touch your life.
The Lost Get Found - Britt Nicole | Posted June-23-2013
The Lost Get Found is a popular and fun album from Britt Nicole with great messages and groovy music.
The title song, 'The Lost Get Found' is classic Britt. It talks about us being a light in a dark world, and has an amazing beat. Best line- "There's a world at your finger tips and you know you have the chance to change it".
'How We Roll' is a cleverly styled song. It's got some runs and cool rifs.
Moving on a bit, 'Hanging On' is a song I love. It's about God guiding you. It's about listening to him; having him show you the way. It's one of those which deeply hangs on your heart, but it's still cheerful.
'Headphones' is the story for those of us who sometimes feel alone. Music is honestly the best escape, and the song clearly reflects that. It's so perky and upbeat, and totally tells the truth. 'Love is coming through your headphones'. Watch the music video as well if you get a chance.
I freak out over 'Welcome to the Show'. It's nearly rock, very electric, and totally awesome. One of those lively songs.
'Walk On Water' is beautiful. Most of her songs are, but this one is just stunning.
Next up are 'Glow' and 'Like a Star'. Those are both electric sounding. Ones you love to move to, sink in, and enjoy as dance music.
Skipping to the final song, 'Have Your Way', everything will tie together for you. I used to cry when I listened to this song. Seriously. It's a song to God, and it's absolutely lovely. The way the song is sung so quietly, and the soft piano makes this like a prayer. It's one of the best.
I love how encouraging Britt's songs are. I always feel stronger after listening to them. Such an encouraging album! You won't be disapointed.
You're Worth More Than Gold | Posted June-22-2013
Gold is an upbeat, encouraging, amazing pop album. Britt Nicole has some wondeful lyrics weaved through fun music.
The title song, 'Gold' is all about how God loves you, and how you truely are worth more than gold. It's about how you shouldn't care what other people think, just be yourself. God made you special, and that's all that matters.
'All This Time' is a very pretty song. God's always there for us even when we can't see him, and this song clearly reflects that.
I personally love the beat in 'Look Like Love'. It's got great music and a great message. 'Who You Say You Are' is pretty cool as well.
'Read or Not' is epic. Not kidding. It mixes Britt Nicole with Lecrae, leaving you with an awesome song filled with pasionate music and creative lyrics.
It's so cool. You would not believe how many times I've heard 'Breakthrough' in the mall. as the 6th song in the album, it continues to pull it together.
Skipping to song 9, 'Amazing Life' is crazy awesome. It's one of those dance songs that could be made into the best music video ever. Listen to it, love it.
'Still That Girl' was exhilerating performed live. When I saw Britt in concert, she sang that song with dancing mixed in. It was really dramatic and pretty, reflecting this amazing song.
Finally, 'Seeing for the First Time' is gourgeous. It's so lovely, slow, and tops off the album perfectly.
I love how Britt Nicole's songs can be popular and fun while still hiding Christian themed messages inbetween. As a 15-year-old girl, I know that it's hard to find good music, but Britt Nicole in her album Gold is surely a winner.
