The new release of Jars of Clay's Greatest Hits is indeed just that. Although Jars have had enough hits to fill a double CD release, this collection does a great job of pulling together their best work over the full range of their albums. As a bonus, the new track Love Is The Protest carries on the style of their recent release Good Monsters. While most longtime JoC fans will already own the albums represented by this release, new fans or those desiring a highlight album of their songs will find this release lives up to its name.

Fans of guitar driven modern worship will find much to enjoy with Starfield's I Will Go. The selections have enough variety to stand apart yet flow well together in vibe and theme. The band's passion for worship comes through in the intensity, which together with the heartfelt lyrics keep the listener engaged through the final note. This is one of those albums that begs for repeat listens as it has plenty of content yet still seems to end entirely too soon.

"Uninspiring" is about the only way I can describe Love Out Loud by Jaci Velasquez. Other than the Latin flavored selections Tango and Por Escrito the instrumentation is typical bland adult contemporary styling. Keeping in mind Jaci's mainstream appeal, perhaps I was expecting too much in terms of spiritually thought provoking lyrics but the two overt "God" songs, Jesus (The Way) and My Alleluia came across as trite and cliched. While the vocals are generally pleasant, Jaci's range and vibrance seem lacking this time around. Perhaps being the first project on her own label contributed to this album's weakness. While the colors of the garish cover art blare loudly, Love Out Loud comes across as a mumble amidst the cacophony of a very active Christian music scene.
