New look at the Middle East | Posted March-31-2010
This book really gives a new insite into those living in the Middle East. Both authhors risk their lives to go to the Middle East to show love to those that the media portrays as our enemies. they also try to find out what love means to them. This book gave me a new understanding of why people do the things they do. A great book and would highly recommend to those looking to find out more about those living in the Middle East.

Awesome Book | Posted June-10-2009
Liparulo has done it again with the follow up to Deadfall (book 1 about John Hutchinson). This book takes place a year after Deadfall with John trying to prove that Brendan Page had more to do with the fiasco that takes place in the first book. Page is training an elite force of military guards called Outis with all of the newest technology to make them the best. But when John gets a little too close Page makes things personal wby attacking John and the ones that he loves. Pages men eventually kidnap John's son LOgan.

I love the characters in the story and their interaction with each other. Liparulo does a great job of writing again and I have not been disappointed yet. I look forward to see what he has in store in the future.

Solo Debut from Phillip LaRue | Posted June-10-2009
I remeber listening to the sibling group LaRue back in the day and they had some really great vocals and lyrics. They then took some time off with Natalie getting married and Phillip going behind the scenes as a producer. Now Phillip is back with a solo album. I really didnt know what to expect but was really impressed with the album. It does have a nice flow to and some good lyrics. I know it is labeled as a Christian album and may not fit what most people consider to be a Christian album but it is an album with songs written by a Christian. So there are some spiritual references if you take a look at it in a different light. The album has a southern rock. I liked the songs "chasing the Daylight" "Why" and "All I Want." A great Solo album from a veteran musician that is really worth the look.

Great New Praise and Worship Artist | Posted June-10-2009
I First remember hearing Kristian Stanfill on the passion release Everything Glorious singing "Jesus paid it all" and was really impressed with the song. Stanfill really has a heart for God and it comes through in his lyrics. A very contemporary Praise and Worship album that really got me into worship. Stanfill was signed to sixstep records which is the home of the PAssion CD's, David Crowder band, and Chris Tomlin. So he moves in with some great company and does really well holding his own. I really liked a lot of the songs on this album and would highly recommend to fans of Great Praise music and especially fans of other albums put out by sixstep records.

This Series just keeps getting better | Posted June-10-2009
This picks right up were the last book left off which was a reall cliffhanger and left you wanting more. That is also how this book ends I cant wait for the next book to come out. This series follows the king family and their dreamhouse which they move into. It turns out the house is not exactly what they planned for with mysterious people and rooms that transport you back in time. This book starts off with the King children looking for their mother who was taken also we find out who the mysterious older man from the last book is that was traveling to the house. This book is so intense I couldnt put it down and finished it in a day. The ending like I stated leaves us looking to the future of this series and is a real cliffhanger. For fans of Suspensful book and no this is not just for the young as I am age 30 and really love this series.

Songs of Modern Worship | Posted June-10-2009

Chris Tomlin continues to be a voice for this generation and continues to write very moving and powerful worship songs. This continues in the line of his previous albums though maybe not up there with those but still 5 stars. I really like the songs "Praise the Father, Praise the Son" and "Jesus Messiah." A great new collection of songs for Worship services.

New Look at a Classic genre | Posted June-10-2009
When I heard Eric Wilson was writing a Christian Vampire trilogy I was very interested to see how he would pull off blending faith and vampires. You can tell he put a lot of research and time into this book and Man does it work. I was blown away with how he combined everything. This is really a story about all of us and how we are tempted by things around us. We can either fall prey to these things or prevail with the help of the Nazarenes blood.

The story follows Gina Lazarescu and her search to find out who she really is and the secrets of her past that seem to be hidden. Also their are the undead who were tainted with Judas' blood. Follow them both and see how their worlds collide.

Eric Wilson really pulled it off with book and Icant wait for the other books in the trilogy. I also liked how he brought in a character who was related to someone in another of his books. A great read for those looking for something different, lovers of vampire books, or just those trying to see how he pulled off combining faith and vampires.

A Fun Read | Posted June-10-2009
Alton Gansky is one of my favorite authors and writes a lot of different types of books. This one is a fun read it just didnt grab me like some of his others. Book is based on the biblical figure Enoch who didnt die. Enoch is back to deliver a message to the world and it tells us to "Look for the One I AM sending you." Also there is Mary Martha a former palm reader that has started her own church. A great story I just didnt feel that some of the characters stories were developed as much as they could have been. Also I thought the book ended rather quickly. Still a great book though and a must for fans of Gansky. I still like some of his other books a lot better though such as the JD stanton books or the Perry Sachs books.

Dekker Doesnt Dissapoint! Healy Great First Novel | Posted June-10-2009
Ted Dekker is back and he doesnt hold anything back in his new novel. I really love the whole Circle/Book of History titles but I was ready for another stand alone title. This time Dekker teams up with Erin Healy a book editor and first time novelist and they dont disappoint with Kiss.

After a Car accident Shauna McAllister wakes up from a coma and has no memory of the last 6 months of her life. She finds out her brother Rudy who was in the accident is severly brain damaged and that she tested positive for drugs which caused the accident. She returns home to live with her estranged father Landon McAllister the texas Senator and Presidential nominee and her abusive step mother Patricia. Everyone blames her for the accident and what happened to her brother.

Her only friend is Wayne Spade, her boyfriend (that she has no recollection of) who tries to help her through this difficult time.

A great story of redemption and a very intriguing story. I really loved the story and this is a must for Dekker fans and for fans of great suspense stories.

Awesome Start to a New Series. | Posted May-08-2009
THis is the First YA title by Andrew Klavan. Even though I have not read anything else by him I will definetly check out his other title after reading this one. This is also the first in a series of books.

Charlie is a normal 17 year old high schooler but one day he wakes up strapped into a chair and someone is trying to kill him. The last thing he remembers was going to sleep after the perfect day at school(one in which he did a karate display for the school and his crush wrote her number on his hand). Charlie is told by a friend that what if everything we believe or have been taught is wrong and that nothing is real. Charlie must find out what is real and just what happened between the time he went to sleep and woke up in the chair.

A great book and a great start to the series I know this is geared toward the Young adult crowd but being an adult I found this to be a very suspenseful title and would highly recommend to both youth and adults.
You can go to www.thehomelanders.com to check out the first 3 chapters of the book.
