This is how I would describe this album in it's entirety. I listened to this album non-stop for about 2 months, because it was the kind of worship I love; where every single word could connect with your own. I felt like I could sing these songs, and I could comfortably and confidently sing it from my heart as if it was my own song. Starfield really took a step up from their Sparrow debut, and their growth could only go up after this album. Extremely recommended to everyone. So go check it out. Now.
Redefining worship for our generation | Posted March-07-2010
I had always heard of David Crowder*Band, but I never really got a chance to listen to his music. A friend recommended Church Music, so I gave it a listen; this album took me to the moon and back on my first listen through. Every song and every word just completely tore apart my view on what worship music was and what it was limited to. This CD really helped me see that it's more than just having a simple song with words that give praise to God; it's about making a connection between the listener and God. Dance/electronic music is beginning to be a very popular genre of music, but there are few believers that are taking a shot at incorporating dance/electronic music with Christian application. I give big props to David Crowder and his being unpredictable in his music; this album will have you really thinking, if not dancing. Some people see this as being secularly influenced music that doesn't glorify God, but the bottom line is this generation needs to hear the message in a way that is comfortable to them. God's message will always stay the same; how we as His followers present that message has changed with every generation. So David Crowder*Band really made a solid step in reaching out today's generation by creating an album that invites them to be comfortable while hearing the message of love. That's what it's all about.
The Album I Needed | Posted March-06-2010
Ever since I heard Starfield's beautiful music, I've been a strong fan of their music and their faith. So naturally, when I heard of The Saving One, I got extremely excited; I just knew this album was going to be a boost for my spiritual life. In almost every hard season of my life, Starfield's worship has given me hope and confidence for the future, and the song Rediscover You is now my anthem of the year. Maybe even my life. I can't describe exactly how much this album lifted me up, but I will definitely say if you are passionate about God and about worship, this album will make a great addition to your collection. Don't let this one pass you by; give it a listen, and be blessed.
The Real Aaron Gillespie | Posted October-20-2009
At first you wouldn't think of the Almost as a side act from the Underĝath drummer, but listening to this album shows the other side of Aaron: another talented and poetic artist that can carry his own. He recorded all the instruments on his own, but afterwards put together a band to represent the Almost as a band. This debut is a very strong album. Each song is complimentary to the next, and Aaron's voice truly shines in songs like Amazing, Because It Is, Southern Weather, and Say This Sooner. I totally recommend this one.
Ground Breaking | Posted October-13-2009
The first time I listened to Family Force 5, it was in New Zealand when my friend won the CD in a break-dancing contest. A year and a half later, I can see that it was truly destined for him to win that CD, because now Family Force 5 is one of my ALL TIME favorite bands. This album is nothing short of amazing. Every song makes you want to move, even if you can't dance too well! And the songs that have Biblical references and metaphorical references to God show off the faith these guys have in the midst of their bass- pounding music. Family Force 5 set the standard of a Christian group that reached into Christian and secular media with success through this CD. This is an album your collection can't be complete without; trust me.
The Most Unusual Yet Incredible Christmas Album | Posted October-13-2009
When I heard that Family Force 5 was making a Christmas album, I was both shocked and excited. Family Force 5 has been making a name for themselves, and they have certainly become a force to be reckoned with. This album is a definite 180 twist on the Christmas spirit; and yet, it works almost perfectly. Amongst the crazy hip hop beats and the auto-tuned vocals you'll find a Christmas spirit like you've never seen and heard. Every song is fun and well done, and it's a good break from the traditional styles. Go get it!!
An Absolute Must Have | Posted October-13-2009
One word that can describe this album is catchy. Every song is just so well put together; the lyrics are strong and get right to the point, the music has clean, straightforward hooks that can stay in your head for a long time, and B.Reith's vocals are just so smooth that it practically soothes the mind. Even if he raps, the words are easy to catch and you understand his message in every song; personally I found his music by accident, and now he is among my top 5 all time favorite artists of the year. If you want upbeat, soulful, and lyrically sound music, B.Reith is a 100% recommendation. Chances are you won't be disappointed.
