Give Me A Revelation | Posted December-07-2008
Well, Third Day is back, although I'm late with this review. I must say that I thought that Wherever You Are Was my favorite Third Day cd. I may have to change my thought after this cd came out. I will admit though that I had to give it a few listens before it got completely stuck in my head. After, two or three listens though, I couldn't stop listening. Without further ado, let's get to the true review.
This is Who I Am starts off the cd with a rocking set that I absolutely love. I always love when Third Day truly rocks it out and this one really proves they can still rock with the best of them. Slow Down has an interesting part with Chris Daughtery in it and is another great rock song. Call My Name, the first single, is absolutely a great song. I must say I found this song at a particularly rough patch in my life and it helped me through a little bit of my life. Honestly, I related it to Cry out to Jesus quite a bit. Now, I won't go through even song on this cd but I will highlight four more songs, which gives you a great amount anyway. First of all Otherside is just fantastic. The work that guitar master Robert Randolph does is brilliant. Revelation, the title track, is great and really makes me think. Ready is a great track that makes me realize that life is tricky every single time I listen to it. It's an upbeat tune as well. The final track has got to be my favorite on the record. Take It All harkens back to great Third Day music like Take My Life and Love Song for me. This is a fantastic song that really is a prayer I can sing over and over. I love this song and this cd. Beware, if you get this cd you won't be able to put it down.

Life Is A Church Filled WIth High Soaring Music | Posted January-04-2008
Life Is A Church is a good album with just a few problems. David Phelps has one of the best voices that I've ever heard and he proves this on this album, especially in the songs That's What Love Is and Gentle Savior. Not only are these powerful songs they are beautifully crafter songs that resonate loud and clear. Something's Gotta Change is another stand out on this album that has quite a few. The song argues for life changing because it has to be better than what it is now. It's a good song and a great message. Still, a few songs lack on this cd. Visions of God and Long Time Coming are two that for some reason don't hit home with me. They are songs that just don't have any snap to this listener. It's not that this cd is bad. Far from it. This cd is well worth a listen but a selective listen. Overall, this is a good cd at parts but hopefully David Phelps next cd will be stronger.

This Moment I'm Writing I Am Loved | Posted January-02-2008
The title of my review really says a lot about this album. This Moment the cd is really a lot about the moment that we are in right now. Let me tell you, that's a great thing. Steven Curtis Chapman has always been hit or miss with his songs to me. I either like a song or don't. This cd, I'm glad to say is all likes. Chapman says that he feels like he put years of work into this cd and it really does show. Miracle of The Moment is a good song that again, shows the beauty of the moment that we are in right now. Still, the stand outs of this cd have to be Children of God and You Are Being Loved. These two songs make me smile no matter what kind of mood I am in and almost every time get me off my rear and dancing. These are great songs that are almost worth the price of the cd itself. The final track, With One Voice, is a great worship album that really does have you singing along. Overall, this is a great cd that shouldn't be missed. Warning, you will be up and dancing during the listening of this cd.

Wherever I Am I Can Listen To This CD | Posted January-02-2008
Third Day is my favorite band so let me put that preface on this review. This being said I think that every person should buy this cd. There is not a weak song on this album and most of the songs can really help if you are in a bad spot. Trust me, this is not an album to be missed. The cd starts with the rocker Tunnel which is a great reminder that there is always a light in the darkness. Eagles is a great song that also serves as a reminder that God can make us soar. Then the cd sort of kicks into gear for me personally. Cry Out To Jesus is the song that still causes me to cry sometime hearing it because it touches every hurt part of me. This song, if you haven't heard it, begs to be heard. It covers all manner of sins, quite literally. I Can Feel It and Keep on Shinin' are two more songs that are typical Third Day rockiness that never let up in a great way. What blows my mind about these songs is that they have a great message as well as the ability to rock. Communion makes me think about exactly what its title claims and begs to be sung at a service. Carry My Cross really is a great reflection on Jesus during his final days before death and even to point of death. It's an epic story in song form done very well. How Do You Know questions everyone's knowledge of being right as far as faith goes. A welcome wake up call is what this song really is. Mountain of God makes me sing every single time I hear it. It is a great song that should be blared. The final three songs, Love Heals Your Heart, The Sun is Shining, and Rise Up, feel like a great ballad. These three sons are three of the best on the cd. They make the listener remember that every thing is going to be alright if we try to make it so and even when we can't God will be there. These three songs are just glorious. Overall, this cd is probably my favorite of all time. It's strong in it's convictions and doesn't stop rocking throughout. This is a must buy for Third Day fans and for fans of music in general.

All That Is Within Me Says This is a Good CD | Posted January-02-2008
MercyMe is one of my favorite bands and this album does not disappoint. The cd opens with a roar and honestly doesn't let go. The first two songs, Goodbye Ordinary and Time Has Come, are two songs that immediately caught my attention as upbeat songs that never let go. The first single off the album, God With Us, is spectacular and makes me worship while singing along, which MercyMe has always been so good at. The bonus album ends with three acoustic versions of songs, God With Us, Sanctified, and Finally Home. God With Us is beautiful and Sanctified is well done as well but Finally Home really is finally home in it's acoustic form. It is such a loving song that is beautifully played and full of heart and thought as well. The DVD has a great concert from the guys that is cool as well as spiritual. The All That is Within Me stuff is actually a little lacking. A neat tour of where they did the recording and a little bit of the back story is included and although interesting don't really merit a second watch. Still, the DVD is worth it just for the concert which actually got me out of my seat in front of my chair and singing, chills going up and down my spine. Just brilliant during Bring the Rain. Overall, this is a cd that shouldn't be missed and one that is in this writer's humble judgment a great worship album.
